ESTABLISHMENT OF NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE FOR THE DISABLED
In the Year 2002, a committee was set up
to propose the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo as a Center
of Excellence. The Committee, which was chaired by the Former Deputy
Provost, Alhaji B.R. Ismaila submitted a proposal to the immediate past
Provost Professor T. A. Adedoja. The proposal was sent to the Education
Tax Fund (ETF) for consideration.
Fortunately, the College succeeded to be
among the eighteen lucky institutions nationwide and of course one of
the three in the South West Zone. The sum of N75 million each was
approved for the project nationwide. The project whose construction
began during the tenure of the former Provost, Professor Taoheed Adedoja
was completed and equipped with all accessories shortly on assumption of

The National Resource Centre for the
Disabled (NRCD) also known as The Centre of Excellence for the Disabled,
is an autonomous Centre providing man-power, outreach programmes,
information, producing technical, rehabilitation and empowerment of
persons with disabilities and barriers to learning and development and
promoting collaboration among agencies involved in disability issues and
