DR. ADENIYI APPOINTED PROVOST OF THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION  (SPECIAL), OYO

A new Provost has been appointed for the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, he is Dr. Emmanuel Olufemi Adeniyi.

Dr. Adeniyi was born over 50 years ago at Ilesa, Osun State. He attended Ebenezer Grammar School, Ijeda- Ilesa from 1968-1970 and the University of Ibadan where he bagged the Bachelors, and Masters Degrees in Special Education in 1981 and 1985 respectively while he had his Ph.d Degree in Educational Management in the year 2000.

An astute administrator and educationist, Dr. Adeniyi was once, Dean, School of Education 1994-1998, Deputy Provost, 2002-2006 and Acting Provost, November, 2003-January 2004 at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta.

At the completion of his NYSC programme at Egbado Teachers' College, Ilaro, Ogun State, 1982 he got employed as an assistant Lecturer at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo in 1982 where he until 1991 when he left for the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta. A widely published scholar, Dr. Adeniyi has authored and co-authored many books in the field of education.

He attended many conferences where he presented highly rated academic papers. His articles have also been published in several, local and international journals.

The new Provost is a member of some professional Associations/Bodies such as: National Council for Exceptional Children (NCEC), National Association of Educationist for National Development (NAED), Nigerian Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET), Fellow, The Institute of Chartered TRaining Managers (FAICTM), etc.

He is happily married with children.

 

NEW COLLEGE LIBRARIAN FOR FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (SP), OYO.

The College Governing Council at her 35th meeting of 15th August, 2007 approved and ratified the appointment of Mr. Oladepo Ayinla Adebimpe as the College Librarian.

Mr. Adebimpe joined the services of the College in 1990 as a Librarian I and steadily rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Librarian in 2001. A consummate and an affable academic, Mr. Adebimpe has once held office as Acting Head, cataloguing and classification (1990-1992), Principal Librarian and Head, collection Development Serials 1995-1998 in the College Library.

A graduate of the Ahamadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor of Library Science Degree (Second Class Upper Division) in 1986 and the University of Ibadan for his Masters of Library Studies in 1995, Mr. Adebimpe is eminently vast in the art of librarianship.

Prior to his joining the services of the College, Mr. Adebimpe equally had a breif stint as Circulation Librarian II, 1987-1990 at St. Andrews (now Oyo State College of Education, Oyo).

The new Librarian has contributed very many meaningful academic chapters in some highly rated books, he equally has to his credit several papers and Journals Articles presented at conferences, seminars and workshops.

A member of so many Professional Associations such as Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Association of Libraries for the Visually Impaired (ALVI), Nigerian Association of Educationists for National Development (NAEND)etc.

The new College Librarian is happily married with children.
